As many of you may already know, King Henry VIII is my favorite monarch of the Tudor dynasty. If it wasn’t for his reign I do not believe the Tudors would be as popular as they are today. In this episode I continue on my journey to explain the Henry I have learned to love...and hate. In this series on Henry VIII I want to take a different look at the king who executed two of his six wives. Apr 2, 2018 at 12:37pm   Episode: Edward VI's Regency Council   After producing my series on Lady Jane Grey I thought I should step back a bit and look at the beginning of Edward VI's reign. As many of you already know I have an obsession with Thomas Seymour - it is at the time of Edward accession to the throne that things began to sour for Thomas Seymour...where he may have foresaw great favor and wealth, realty brought him much less. Thomas Seymour was not even trusted by King Henry VIII to be on the regency council of his own nephew. This episode will focus on the events that occurred prior to King Henry VIII's death and will end with each of the sixteen men on the council and a bit about them. I have read 'Crown of Blood' by Nicola Tallis 3. I just finished 'Three Sisters Who Would Be Queen' by Leanda De Lisle 4. BBC recently had a series on her as well, so Jane is hot-topic this month. In the last podcast we ended with Katheryn Howard married and Thomas Cromwell was executed. If you missed it, I’d recommend going back and listening to that one first, it was called Katheryn Howard: Part One.  As a queen of England Katheryn is only remembered for being the fifth wife of Henry VIII, and was executed.
