Bill and Jamal discuss Bill’s recent visit to San Jose State University for “Words to Action,” the inaugural symposium for the University's new Institute for the Study of Sport, Society and Social Change, led by renowned sociologist Dr. Harry Edwards. The two listen to and comment on some of the topics discussed during the panel, which included Jim Brown, Chris Webber, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Tommy Smith, Anquan Boldin, and Takeo Spikes. Brown discusses his controversial meeting with Donald Trump, Abdul Jabbar talks about the need for athletes to work together economically, and Webber talks about what he sees as the hypocrisy of the NCAA. Bill also talked to Brown and Dr. Edwards separately after the panel and we bring you some of those exclusive interviews. Brown again gives his thoughts on the criticism he has received for meeting with Trump and gives a pointed critique of President Obama.
