  • 383: Top 10 Games of the Decade + The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

    11/01/2020 Duration: 02h04min

Some amazing video games came out in the 2010s and Ben Beck of Next Level Radio is with me to count down our top 10 games of the decade -- plus games we're curious about but didn't get around to playing, and games we're looking forward to. And, Skydance Interactive is about to put out The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, an incredible looking VR game set in a flooded post-apocalyptic New Orleans, where you get to play out your fantasies of what you'd actually do in the ZA. I think you're really going to enjoy the conversation I had about the game with creative director Adam Grantham (starts at 1:37:58). For the trailer and more information on The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, go to vrwalkingdead.com. For more of Ben's podcasts, check out nextlevelradioonline.com. • 382: Jay Bonansinga & Melissa Hutchison + Neil Cohen

    27/12/2019 Duration: 01h41min

And now for something completely different: This episode I'm so very pleased to talk with two amazing friends who I've met through my involvement with TWD, Walking Dead novelist Jay Bonansinga and Clementine voice actress Melissa Hutchison! We talk all about how being involved in the world of The Walking Dead has impacted our lives, among other things. And to continue the theme of being a fan of TWD and then getting involved to a greater level, I talk with author Neil Cohen about his book Business Is Dead: Resurrecting Entrepreneurship Through the Fan-Focused Venture. You'll learn about a varied group of people who've each turned their Walking-Dead-related hobby or passion into a business. Plus we talk a little about Neil's zombie novel trilogy inspired by his experience working in government agencies supporting emergency management and counterterrorism. You can find links to all Neil's books at businessisdead.com. This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too)

  • 381: El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

    04/12/2019 Duration: 01h50min

One of my all-time favorite TV shows (maybe my very favorite) is AMC's Breaking Bad, so I was stoked to hear creator/showrunner Vince Gilligan was releasing a sequel movie, called El Camino, on Netflix. This week Rima, Dianna, and I cover the movie. Church! Note: We had a few audio problems (some clips and crackles) early on, but it smooths out pretty quick so hang in there. This podcast is made possible by listeners like you (and you too) who have supported us at patreon.com/jasonandkaren. On the next episode of the Patreon-exclusive Jason & Karen Show podcast we're covering the classic National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, which I love and Karen will be seeing for the first time. • 364: Charlie Adlard and the End of The Walking Dead Comic

    11/08/2019 Duration: 01h06min

AMC's The Walking Dead, and also this podcast, owe their existence to the Walking Dead comic, and so the sudden ending of that comic about a month ago marks a huge moment for all of us WD fans. Join Lucy, Derek, and me as we mark the occasion by talking to the one and only Charlie Adlard, illustrator of The Walking Dead comic! As illustrator, Charlie has been a crucial and enormous factor in how The Walking Dead turned out (both the comic and the show). We talk with Charlie about: His thoughts about the plot of the final issue and how things ended for all the characters. Inking the final issue himself. How he feels now that it’s over. Keeping the fact that the book was ending a surprise, and doing fake preview covers to help with that. Who was hardest and easiest to draw aged up in the final issue. Whether he’s ever thought about going back and redrawing the first six issues. Whether he’ll do more Walking Dead comics. What's next for Charlie. Plus a lot more. Look for Charlie's next comic, Vampi
