This week, Pastor Kristina Walker my wife and pastor to the Lamar, Two Buttes, and Walsh United Methodist Churches and I are taking time this week try new ways to stay connected while we are temporarily suspending worship and in person activities in our congregations due to the coronavirus pandemic. For this conversation on Monday, March 16th, we discuss our faith in Christ and the changes and the disruptions we are facing.

As we are taking a temporary pause in worship and activities in person at Wiley and McClave UMC due to the coronavirus pandemic, I've recorded the sermon for you to listen to at your home. We continue our series, taking a look at Hope and our perception of of it. Stay safe and we'll worship together again soon!

This week we continue our series examining how our perceptions can affect our faith, particularly how idolatry can be a concern with our self-examination.

This week we began a new Lenten series, where we'll examine our perceptions and behaviors. This week we focused on the cultural view of death and how that impacts our faith, especially in regards to resurrection. The scripture in focus is 1 Corinthians 15:50-57.

This week we conclude our short sermon series on seeking a way forward when times are difficult. We heard from the story of Gideon from Judges 7:1-22 and how he demonstrated trust when things seemed difficult or almost impossible.

This week we begin a short sermon series examining how we move forward when it seems like we have few options. Jesus found himself in a difficult situation, but because he looked at the situation differently, he was able to find a way forward that was not easily apparent. The scripture in focus is John 8:2-11.

This week we finish our series on faith and technology by taking a solid look at making personal connections and relationships a priority. Our scripture in focus is Hebrews 10:19-39.

We continue our series examining the intersection of our faith and modern technology. We hear this week from Ezekiel 12:1-20 and ponder our stewardship of the tools we have available to us in our current time.

We continue our series examing the interaction between our faith and technology. This week look at Ephesians 5:8-21 and how it invites us to be intentional with our usage of technology. 

This week we begin a new sermon series examining and considering our use of technology and our faith. This week we talk about expressing and living with agape love as an expression of faith while using technology. The scripture in focus is 1 John 4:7-21.

This week take a look at the Epiphany and Flight to Egypt from Matthew 2. This chapter of Matthew is full of ups and downs in the early life of Jesus, but we see the hope and compassion God has for us in this story.

This week we hear of the encounter of Elizabeth and Mary, and the rejoicing that Mary shares in this encounter. The scripture in focus is Luke 1:39-55.

This week we continue our journey through Advent hearing from Joseph's experience of the news of the coming Messiah. The scripture in focus this week is from Matthew 1:18-25. 

This week we continue our journey through Advent, taking a look at repentance. Too often we focus on the act we are repenting for, rather than taking note of the grace and new life Christ shares with us. Our scripture in focus is Mark 1:1-8.

This week we begin the season of Advent. We take a look at the genealogy of Jesus from Matthew 1:1-18 and use this passage ground our discussion on family history and our faith. 

This past Sunday was Christ the King Sunday, which is the last Sunday of the liturgical or church year. Our scripture in focus is Luke 23:33-34. We take a look at how our Christ offers a different perspective on grace and mercy. 

From our Wiley Wednesday Worship Service! We took a different look at stewardship. Typically we only think of responsibly using our money or time, but faithful stewardship is much broader. Listen in as we took a wholistic look at stewarship that is faithful to our walk with Christ. Our scripture in focus is Psalm 24:1-6.
