Welcome to this edition of Aphasia Access Conversations, a series of conversations about topics in aphasia that focus on the LPAA model. My name is Janet Patterson, and I am Research Speech-Language Pathologist at the VA Northern California Health Care System in Martinez CA. These Show Notes follow the conversation between Dr. Chaleece Sandberg and myself, but are not an exact transcript of the conversation. Dr. Chaleece Sandberg is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Health and Human Development at Penn State University.  She directs the Semantics, Aphasia, and Neural Dynamics Laboratory (SANDLab), which focuses on finding ways of optimizing language therapy for adult language disorders, with a primary interest in aphasia. Specifically, work in the SANDLab explores the neuroplastic processes that take place during successful therapy and how to enhance these processes.
