We strive to learn wisdom from studying the word of God as He did. How do we overcome the world? We overcome the world through understanding and living the doctrines of Christ. When we live righteous and obedient lives according to the commandments and will of God, we can access additional spiritual strength from Christ. What are the signs we have overcome the world? The first sign is peace. We can gain peace from the exhausting paces of the fallen world. We dwell upon the peaceful things of the kingdom of God. We are free from the behaviors of selfishness, carnality and sensuality. Another sign is we love the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ more than anyone or anything. Lastly, why should we attempt to overcome the world? First, because Christ asked us to overcome the world and follow His example. The great blessing of the atonement is that it applies to everyone.
