On Music Friday This Week: Salvador began playing the drums at age 3, shifted to piano at 6, studying at the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and Cal Arts. His education, passion and lineage have turned him into a monster on the keys. Portland-based The Bylines are grounded in a big-band past and a present of intricate pop. They focus on grand live spectacle, but are equally at home in jazz halls, large rooms and intimate venues.
