Happy Birthday to the Baby Faced Assassin, Ted Irvine! And to celebrate the big day, Teddy’s giving a play-by-play account of the New York Rangers 1972 Stanley Cup Playoff run! It was probably the biggest moment of his hockey career in New York, and he shares details and stories about his team’s incredible run from beating Chicago and Montreal to losing the Finals at home to Boston in 6 games. Teddy talks about the Rangers’ stacked lineup at the time which included goalies Ed Giacomin and Gilles Villemure, Bruce MacGregor, Billy Fairbarn, Rod Gilbert, Brad Park, Jean Ratelle, Rod Seiling, Pete Stemkowski, Walt Tkazcuk, Bobby Rousseau, and team captain, Vic Hadfield. He remembers what it was like to face Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito on the ice, and what it was like to prevent Boston from winning the Cup in their home rink!
