Mount Kilimanjaro tops out at 19,341 ft (5,895 m) and is located in Tanzania. The Mountain is part of Kilimanjaro National Park. Kilimanjaro features a lot of climbing and has a very diverse ecosystem that even features glaciers and ice fields. You can start your trek from Dar es Salaam, Nairobi Kenya, or a smaller but nearer city like Arusha. The climb is not as deadly as Mount Everest, but people still can die and be seriously injured. Acute Mountain Sickness (altitude sickness) can be a real threat. Extreme altitude sickness can even be deadly.
