Synopsis

This is the latest in a series of podcasts recorded at Site Gallery's regular Site Sessions events. Site Sessions are monthly interdisciplinary gatherings, generally occurring on the last Thursday of the month. The current series explores the links between magic and technology. The theme of this one, recorded on Thursday 29th of November, 2018, is ritual. Hosted by Site Gallery's Digital Curator Leila Johnston, it features talks from world experts on two groups founded around the same time: historian Annebella Pollen, who researches the woodcraft/camping/spirituality fellowship the 'Kibbo Kift', and Gemma Papineau, who studies the millenarian community, the Panacea Society. The episode opens with a chat between the presenters. You'll then hear some extracts from their talks at the public event. Site Sessions is a City of Ideas project.
