Synopsis

The sun will come out tomorrow? Well, tomorrow has finally come. It is officially today and we are ready to break into song and dance with guest Laurel Koepf-Taylor, assistant professor of Old Testament at Eden Theological Seminary, as we examine John Huston's 1982 movie, Annie. In this episode, Laurel leads us through discussions of children in scripture, child-labor laws, and the power of a little girl to interrupt capitalism. We also explore what Annie has to do with the lectionary week of Year C, Ordinary 16, July 17th. It's a hard knock life, people, but we've got Annie. So before you preach this Sunday, come and get a dose of optimism from your friends at Technicolor Jesus. Finally, Matt and Adam will be taking a short hiatus before returning with new guests and movies in September. If you have any suggestions send us an email at technicolorjesuspodcast@gmail.com.
