Thank you to Rose Campbell for joining me on my podcast. Rose usually trains clients who don't like to exercise, people who don't like the gym. She trains them in small groups. Rose recommends taking small steps, for example, workout one day, monitor change, and come again. That’s what it takes to make long-term behavior change. We should plan, and go for measurable outcomes. Setbacks are a part of life, so don’t feel you’ve failed. Just take small achievable steps and you will get there. Try to change your behavior slowly. Don’t make a big deal about everything. Try to support, without nagging. Both her parents died young, of cancer. Her dad before 30, her mom before 50. Her brother died of cancer/alcoholism. Because of this she's really encouraged her kids to be healthy. A lot of people think working out has to be difficult, uncomfortable, hurting, out of breath. But once they see the outcome, nobody usually feels bad. When you're in your head, anxiety and depression, a little bit of physical exercise, you
