102 - How and Why I Quit My 20-Year Energy Drink Addiction

What started out as an occasional Red Bull back in 1999 turned into a raging 2-3 a day habit that ultimately led to heart palpitations, mood swings, and a mouthful of cavities. I did this show to share my two-decade long addiction to energy drinks, how I got off of them, and why I did. After spending so many years drinking them and so many thousands of dollars buying them, I feel confident in saying that it's a terrible and wasteful habit. Although I love them and miss drinking them, my decision to quit on January 1, 2020 was one of the best health related decisions I've ever made. Caffeine addiction is relatively common and the U.S. spends upwards of $3 billion annually on energy drinks alone. Given the fact that other than the actual caffeine, there is very little (or nothing) beneficial to the human body in them.
