The cover of multi-instrumentalist and tape-manipulator L'Rain's debut album simultaneously represents the memory of her mother and the music partly inspired by her. Taja Cheek's solo project is a phonetic respelling of her mother's name. The album image bears an eponymous cursive tattoo on the Brooklyn songwriter's forearm. Taja's genre is noise enveloped with melody, or sometimes the other way around, but always warmed by her vocals.
