Grassroots Patient Advocacy with Emee Baldwin Poppy's Purpose

Informações:

Synopsis

Emee Baldwin is a nursing student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and Founder of Poppy's Purpose, an advocacy group formed to guarantee that every patient has access to at least one personal advocate a day while in a hospital or nursing facility. This effort was driven by the death of her beloved grandfather, Poppy, isolated in the hospital with COVID-19. Poppy was also the longtime Alabama Republican Party chief of staff and very active in the political community.  With bi-partisan support,  Emee and her family launched a campaign for giving patients access to caregivers. State legislators passed the Harold Sachs Act in 2021 to include compassionate care in health facility visitor policies. She is now looking to expand this effort nationwide. Emee is also competing in the Miss Alabama event this summer. @Emee_Elizabeth #PoppysPurpose #COVID #COVID19 #PatientRights #HolisticMedicine PoppysPurpose.org
