With popular social media trends like #LoveWins and music billboard chart-topping songs about love and relationships, it is clear that we live in a world where love and ideas of love are rampant and diverse. Whether it is aimed at ourselves or at others, the need and capacity for love can be clearly observed in every area of our lives. Though it may seem like a trend of the ‘times’, confusion and misunderstanding of true love have plagued humanity from the beginning. We all develop an idea of love, romance, and affection from our experiences and learned philosophies. It was with awareness of this dilemma that the Apostle Paul, in his letter to the early church in Corinth, makes the invitation: “let me show you a better way”. As we begin 2016, I pray that you will become more aware of where God wants to take you, and that you’d be bold enough to push the start button and let Him be King of everything!

The season of Advent is about a loving God, the creator of all things, coming to live with us… His creation. As followers of Jesus, our confidence is rooted in God being present with us both now and forever. The word “Advent” derives from the Latin word adventus which means “approach” or “arrival”. God has arrived among us in the person of Christ and continues to approach us through the Holy Spirit. The season of Advent is both the celebration of Jesus’ appearance in history and our expectation of His promised return. In the midst of uncertain times, we celebrate Advent as a reminder that, in Christ, we can face the present and the future with peace of mind.

In the body of Christ every member matters...Every part counts...everybody gets to play! God wants to dwell with people in the earth today. He accomplishes this through the church: His assembly of called out ones to whom he has given the greatest gifts for this cause.

What has God always been up to? Why does it matter? And how do I become a part of it? Whatever you determine God’s mission to be in the earth will dictate your understanding of your role in His mission.

When Jesus said that he would build His church on 'this rock' He was talking with His group of disciples. The boulder-like rock on which Jesus says he would edify His called out ones is made up of a bunch of small rocks. Our togetherness is the foundation on which Jesus builds us up. His Church is more than a box of rocks.

Jesus, a Jewish man, is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophesy of the one who was to come and bring us salvation. Historically, in the New Testament it is recorded that Jesus identified Himself as the promised Messiah during the Feast of Tabernacles.
