Synopsis

In the Stacks with Barry & LaToya was a loosely library-related show that now further showcases the viewpoints on news, entertainment, books, and other issues by former Twin Lakes Library System Director and Assistant Director, Barry Reese and LaToya Davidson-Perez. Each show features a little bit of everything from general discussion to games and entertainment.

    After what feels like a lifetime Barry and LaToya are back in the studio. It's the first actual episode since the record-breaking 30th Annual Library Fair and Barry is in good spirits. Money tends to have that effect on him (and LaToya). LaToya turns the tables on Barry and makes him the chump for Iron Man 2 trivia. Barry hijacks LaToya's segment and LaToya is actually reading a book but doesn't get to talk about it. Will the show feature a new co-host? What is the world coming to?!

    LaToya's going on vacation. Barry decides to record the show early. Although the 'release' date is for after the Library Fair, it's the day before the 30th Annual Library Fair and the staff are all onsite preparing for the event. Barry and LaToya wing it as they do their show and oddities ensue. There's even an appearance by our local telephone repair guy. Stump the Chump is also an interesting edition featuring the spouse of a library employee and Barry shamelessly self-promotes while LaToya steps out of the studio to handle Library Fair business.

    It's the week of Library Fair and Barry and LaToya are super busy. However, LaToya is unaware (as usual) that when Barry says something, he means it. In haste, she prepares for a full episode but has to save her segments and thoughts for the next show. What she also learns (decides) immediately before is to be the mini-episode Chump. With the chance to humiliate his co-host Barry not only has sports trivia but FSU & USC rivalry mixed in.

She also brings with her today's guest and Stump the Chump victim, Trinidadian boyfriend, Kenrick Perez. With the Batman-themed game, Kell serenades them with the 60s classic show theme. Does he knock this performance out of the park? Bam! Pow! Thwack! Does Kenrick join Kell as the biggest loser? Na na na na Na na na na BATMAN!

    Season Premiere. The Stacks welcome guest and famous pulp fiction author, Derrick Ferguson. As the season's first Chump he adds his own vocal stylings to the game. Barry changes up the format to the show and LaToya is the last to know. However, LaToya is pleasantly surprised (and relieved) that she's again co-host for another season. Paris Hilton is again a topic of discussion but who can top Kell's heart-warming rendition of the GI Joe theme?

Anne Moore, Youth Services Coordinator happens upon the conversation when coming to the office on business matters. In this mini-episode Barry, LaToya, and Anne debate which LaToya finds cleaner, Kell Carpenter's kitchen or the kitchen at the local Golden Pantry.

This is the first episode debuting the theme music at the open and close of the show. Kell is given the opportunity to redeem himself as the only losing Chump of the season. Barry and LaToya discuss the economic distress on library funding. LaToya's watching Doctor Who and Barry loves the Sweds.

    Barry had high hopes for this episode. That is until LaToya squashed them. He goes from a good mood to almost catatonic. Joel Taylor, author of Joel's Weblog of Wonders is the on-the-phone guest and takes part in Pixar Stump the Chump trivia. He's on the line from the beautiful port city of Savannah and in true geek form, is planning on attending a WordPress conference. Later in the show Pumpkin City drummer, Anthony Davidson discusses the debut of the In the Stacks theme song with lyrics derived from LaToya's poem, In the Stacks.
