084: We're just full of bad ideas today
17/10/2016 Duration: 01h49minIn an explosive episode (sorry, I had to do that) Josh and Joe are joined by returning hosts Lanh and David to talk about the week's top Android news. The Galaxy Note 7 discontinuation is obviously the biggest pieces of news and there is ample time given to the topic. However, before all that, David gives his recounting of the Oculus Connect event that he and VRSource covered just a couple weeks back. Lanh gives us his quick podcast review of the Sony Xperia XZ, the full review of which is on Android Authority; and, finally, we talk about Nougat 7.1 and the Developer Preview that basically leaves out Google Assistant. But perhaps the craziest piece of news actually came from the podcast itself - that Josh has been buying faulty USB-C cables and it actually claimed a victim. Yeah, it's that bad. Josh is inconsolable. Listen to hear more! The Android Authority Podcast - discussing topics in Android every single week. 083: Pixelation (+1 for bad pun)
11/10/2016 Duration: 02h10minJoin Joshua Vergara, Jonathan Feist, Joe Hindy, and a returning Nirave Gondhia as they get together for another fun episode of the Android Authority Podcast! In this episode, it's all about the Google Pixel event where we were treated to announcements of the new Google products for 2016. Before getting into the actual devices and announcements, this week's check-in is largely a talk about Craig David, a favorite recording of artist of Josh and Nirave, who performed at the UK Google event (basically, Josh's FOMO was real). From there, however, the guys get into the big discussions - Google Wifi kicks off the event talk as Feist gives his thoughts on what could be a good solution for in-home connectivity. Google Home comes up next, and the general thoughts were that Home poses an interesting new direction for Google's robust and somewhat scary Learning Matrix. Speaking of the Learning Matrix, a tweet from a happy listener makes the guys ponder if Google's design direction for their products simply masks the fac
