It was a busy week for new tech this week, and we will tell you about all the new tech happenings this week, and we will feature: Jonathan Mosen with part 2 of the announcement and new features in Jaws 17 and also the latest release of Magic large print software this week. Then David Woodbridge tells us about the three big new features in the recently released KNFB Reader app. You will not want to miss this show or you may not know what you have missed in new tech this week.

MainMenu is pleased to air the first of a two part presentation of the ACB Information Access Committee - Information 411 presentation from the 2015 ACB Conference and Convention. This presentation will inform you on the activities of the IAC, what the committee has been involved with during the past year, what are some of the current information access activities that they are currently working on, and what is coming up in the future. The IAC would like to encourage you to become a part of the voice for change as you work to encourage more access to information, and let them know of issues that they need to work on in the future. Change will not come unless we are willing to insist on it changing. And, together we can make change and improvements in access to information happen today and in the future...

On MainMenu this week We get the latest about access to Windows 10. Mark Soliman from AI Squared brings us a two part tutorial on installing Windows 10 using Window-Eyes and Microsoft Narrator together. Then Joseph Lee introduces us to NVDA Release 2015.3.

Windows 10 is released and record numbers of people around the world are making the switch. Is it time for you to make the switch too? We hear the latest from Freedom Scientific about Jaws and Magic for Windows 10 from two of their recent FScast podcasts and get a bit of a report on a few issues still to be resolved with Jaws with Windows 10, and possible solutions. Over the next few weeks we will hear about Window-Eyes and Windows 10 and NVDA Windows 10 access to Windows 10 with their expected next upgrade late in August. We then hear four of the last demos of Apple Watch from David Woodbridge as he covers controling the Blind Square app on your iPhone from your Apple Watch. David shows us how to control Netflicks on your Apple TV using the Apple Watch Remote app, and how to check the weather on your watch with the weather app, plus dictate a message from your Apple Watch. These demos will conclude our coverage of a tour of the Apple Watch.

On MainMenu for the week of August 7 thru August 14 2015 we bring you two mor segments on separate parts of the Dolphin Guide, and much more... MainMenu host David Tanner shows us around in the Dolphin Guide address book and we find out how to add new people and companies to our address book, look through the book, delete someone from our address book, and many other things we can do using the address book. Next David will show us the appointment calendar in Dolphin Guide and we will find out how to add appointments to the calendar, how to find out what what appointments are on our calendar and what times and days are free in case we need to set a new appointment in our calendar. Then MainMenu staff member David Woodbridge takes us on a demonstration of the recently released Apple Mac Book just released in spring 2015. On MainMenu this week we will start a series of demonstrations on the Dolphin Guide all-in-one software for Windows. It is a great way for the new computer user to get started using a computer and learn to do many tasks while using an easy to learn software with built-in speech and large print plus all the help you will need to get started. David Tanner does an Introduction To Dolphin Guide. Then David Woodbridge gives us two tutorials/demonstrations on sending and receiving email on the Apple Watch and creating and reading activities that you have on your Apple Watch.

Again this week on MainMenu we will be taking a look at Windows 10, and this week we will look at access to Windows 10 with the newly released version Jaws 16.0.3048 just released on June 22nd. David Woodbridge follows up on the Windows 10 review with a demonstration of using maps with your Apple Watch, and playing music on your Apple Watch. Next week we will be looking at introductions to a couple of new technologies that we will be starting series on this summer, and remember that MainMenu will be taking a week off on July 10th in order to stream the Banquet from the ACB Convention and Conference in Dallas. Apple Watch basics will get you going if you are a new watch owner, and give those who have not baught their watch yet a better idea of how the basics of using the Apple Watch actually work. David Woodbridge demonstrates turning on and off the Apple Watch, and how to unlock the watch. Then David will show us how to pear the Apple Watch with our iPhone, how to delete unwanted apps on your watch. And, finally David shows us what you can do with your watch if it is not connected to your iPhone. This is an excellent review of Apple Watch basics, and will give new watch owners and those considering purchasing the watch a much better idea of how the watch works doing those daily operations that almost anyone would like to know.
