The episode we've been calling "DPW Dirty," which means we consider "S02 E09 - Fuck You & Your Hug" the clean episode. There's violence and naughty things from a whole bunch of anonymized argumentative DPW bastards ... except for Friend-of-the-Show Xeno, who takes his credit as a matter of course. It's fuck-ups, weirdos, bikers, and outlaws laying down together. DPW on Christmas, plug & play camps, choir practice, landmines, & adult stories from your adult children. Remember: all of this stuff happened a long, long time ago, to people who can no longer be implicated for their misdeeds. Also, a recognizable soundscape throughout.

Beth & Rex "twinkle that yo" at the Burning Man Global Leadership Conference, which is as familiarly corporate as any conference you've seen. But our people dress better, and our hair is as awesome as our tattoos are bad. We talk about several regionals, Kostume Kult, and how we're doing it wrong. A safety plan for tornadoes. Friend-of-the-Show Xeno moderates a roundtable of DPW hardcases: Monk, Gage, and Frisky Whisky (from S02 E07.) Monk has opinions about voluntourism, worker’s rights, and penetrations. Gage finds his way through the red tape, while Frisky Whisky discovers what’s in the bucket. Friend-of-the-Show Xeno shares his management philosophy and the transgressive chicanery he got into at Flipside. There’s the first installment of the Accuracy Third Glossary segment, and pretty much everybody has multitool on them. Find out about the awful shit we drank, and if you want t-shirts, I guess we’ll design and print them.  

Sydney grew up deep in burning man culture, so she was a pretty jaded burner when she was still in short pants. Take a trip through Syd's formative years, back when her dad, El Queso Grande, ran the greatest little bike shop in Black Rock City. Beth & Syd have some tent catastrophes in common. Big art? Big art! Coyote is like a rattlesnake. Also, we have the name of D-Day’s porno.

Relay & Frisky Whisky are joining Accuracy Third today with Friend-of-the-Show Xeno, as we delve into some really terrible things that happened at Black Rock City. Beth gets hurt by some great friends in quick succession. Water & pain meds do not help Relay’s headache. Frisky Whisky learns a lesson about gravity. Basically, some truly awful shit happens to everyone in Xeno’s orbit. D-Day makes some truly distressing noises, because he can’t control his empathy. In our first Playa Post segment, Rex reads a listener’s comment, who refutes our 2015 deep Playa experience. Also, we get promise rings!

A couple of stories today: Phil tells us all about being adjacent to an iconic moment of Burning Man photography. Knettles & Pants, gentlemen hoboes, talk us through setting off on a year-long quest of being stinky and traveling around. Also, D-Day doesn’t know about Burning Man, and Malört tastes like earwax.  

Burning Man's Publisher, Jon, calls in to Accuracy Third from Israel, because that’s where he is. D-Day, Rex, & Beth hear a bit about Israel’s regional burn, Midburn, before we delve into the inner workings of the seasonal nature of being a Burning Man employee. Believe it or not, they’ve got a nonstandard corporate culture there. We also get a great story on how Black Rock City is objectively better than the streets of San Francisco, plus you’ll hear how you can get your very own job with the Burning Man Organization. D-Day, Rex, and Beth introduce the episode discussing non-monogamy, because we’ve got stories from one of the Orgy Dome’s organizers, Lazlo. He tells D-Day and Rex about the ins and outs and all the intimate parts of the Orgy Dome experience, including consent, ethical hedonism, and where the hell it is, anyway.   

They are the guardians of one of the longest running continuous rituals of Black Rock City. The Lamplighters bring light to the playa, as well as their legendary 21 hour-a-day bar. Learn about how to volunteer for The Man, the parties they don't throw anymore and why, different uses for The Temple, and everything you didn't know about the rich history of the Lamplighters told to you by one of their own, a delightful man named Moonbeam. There's a lot about lanterns in this episode, though you'll find that D-Day and Rex can't manage to describe one.

For those who know The Volare, neither it nor its owner need any introduction. For those who don't, The Volare is Black Rock City's very own Batmobile/Chitty Chitty Bang Bang hybrid, and Coyote is its Dr. Frankenstein, as well as the superintendent of Black Rock City. He's the man behind the men and women of DPW, the author of Coyote Nose: Tales of the Early Desert Carnies of Burning Man, and an honest to goodness legend of the Playa, depending on who you talk to (D-Day & Rex talked to Coyote.)
