Join us as we vibe to some good good Randy Newman tunes, discuss the "grotesquerie" of classic Warner Bros. animation vs Disney wholesomeness, and forget what year Pocahontas came out (it was '95, Hercules came out in 1997!) • I'll Show You... Memories of Murder (2003)

    30/05/2018 Duration: 01h04min

This week on I'll Show You Mine... Elyse shows James the South Korean crime drama, Memories of Murder. Directed by Bong Joon-ho in 2003, the movie follows the true story of Korea's first recorded serial killer in 1986. The film stars Song Kang-ho as Inspector Park Doo-man and Kim Sang-kyung as Inspector Seo Tae-yoon, two detectives with completely opposing views on how best to catch the killer. We'll talk about how this movie differs from its Hollywood counterparts by doing the unexpected, and dig into the rich visual narrative director Bong lays out for the viewer. P.S. Just a warning, we don't get very graphic in our discussion of the film but this is a story about a series of rapes and murders which may be upsetting.
