The Laodicean church is a picture of the end time church. They chose to trust in having riches and pursuing riches . Because their focus was on what they could do, they chose to cast Jesus out of their hearts. They became lukewarm - unusable for service - so Jesus likewise cast them out of His mouth. Choose Jesus! Not everyone who says "Lord, Lord" will enter the Kingdom of God. Just because you know Jesus does not mean that He knows you. We must have a hunger and thirst for the Word of God. We must be filled with the Spirit and watchful in prayer. We must live a life of obedience to Christ. We must trust in Jesus. We were designed to think. When our thoughts don't bring about positive change in our lives they are inappropriate and vain. How can we make sure this doesn't happen? We must renew our minds by ingesting large quantities of the Word of God. This is the only way we can attain our goal of becoming like Jesus. The devil has an agenda. He wants to blind the mind of the unbeliever so they won't see the gospel and the believer so they won't walk in the full power of the gospel. Don't let him neuter you and make you ineffective!
