On Values, Boundaries & Emotions
14/03/2019 Duration: 38minWhy is your friend triggered by one thing and you something else? A difference of values. What makes you call someone out? Your values. Why do you get that how-can-I-look-myself-in-the-mirror feeling when you choose to not make a scene when someone has crossed a line? Again, values. Our values are mostly unconscious. They drive our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and our actions. Want to know what your values are? Look at how you live your life. Many values were programmed or conditioned into us, and perhaps they served a function at one time but no longer serve us. For personal discovery and growth, it’s important to identify what our values are and change the ones that no longer serve us. Like all change work, this takes time. But it’s so worth it. You are worth it. In today’s episode, you’ll learn how to identify your values, discover which ones serve you, and how to create new ones. Thanks for listening! Grey Zone vs Growth Zone
07/03/2019 Duration: 26minThe comfort zone -- It’s not exciting. It’s not bad. It’s stagnant and … well, comfortable. Your life is basically on autopilot when you’re in the comfort zone. You know the routine. You know what to expect. But humans were designed for growth and transformation -- not stagnation. In today’s episode, we learn about the Yerkes-Dodson law and that a healthy amount of stress increases performance. We discuss the growth zone and how it’s possible to put yourself in an upward spiral of growth. Finally, we learn about the danger zone and why it’s imperative that you not take on too much, that you grow at your own rate, and that you refrain from comparing yourself to others. Welcome to the growth zone. Thanks for listening! A Money Coversation
28/02/2019 Duration: 27minMoney -- can’t live without it. So we might as well have a healthy relationship with it. But many of us have negative feelings and perceptions around earning money or using it for things we enjoy. Some of us can’t even pay for services we need without a sense of guilt or waste. To complicate matters, if your unconscious mind believes money causes you stress, it will try to keep that stress -- in this case, money -- away from you. Let that sink in. Typically we inherit our perceptions of money from our parents, but that doesn’t mean we have to be stuck with them. In today’s episode we learn about the “comfort zone” of money and what it takes to break out of that zone and get rid of limiting beliefs. It involves, of course, working with our unconscious mind. The really exciting thing is that mastery of this or any area in life is a sign of personal growth. And growth in one sphere always bleeds over into others. Thanks for listening! The True Meaning of Happiness
21/02/2019 Duration: 38minDespite what marketers would have you believe, happiness will never come from a purchase, an investment, or a new methodology. We’ve been led to believe that happiness is “out there,” that it can be reached or achieved. But research shows, believe it or not, that most people are happiest at work. Why? Because we experience happiness when we’re in pursuit. Happiness is in creating. It’s in striving. Happiness is a journey, a way of living and being, not a destination to be reached. In today’s episode, we’ll learn why we grow disillusioned with the good things we already have in our lives. We’ll discuss “positive anticipatory dissatisfaction,” and why it’s the key to staying on the happiness path. You can put yourself on the happiness path right now. It begins with taking responsibility for yourself in the present moment. No matter how negative your current state, you have the power to shift your state toward happiness. Thanks for listening! Unconscious Goal Stopper
14/02/2019 Duration: 39minWe all want to increase pleasure and avoid pain. But did you know that we tend to be motivated by one of those objectives more than the other? We all have a direction filter which determines if we’re focused on moving toward pleasure or moving away from pain. Those who focus on pleasure (“towards” people) tend to get it. They are the folks who seem to have all the luck in life. Good stuff just attracts them like magnets. They’re positive, and seem to have boundless energy to realize their goals. Those who focus on avoiding pain (“away-from” people) seem to have a rain cloud over them. They have success in bits and starts, but because their focus is on the pain they want to avoid, they find it challenging to get in a positive flow. The good news is that if you have an “away-from” focus, you can change it -- and thereby the direction of your life -- by working with your unconscious mind. Thanks for listening! Rewriting Negative Thoughts
07/02/2019 Duration: 36minWe all have a negativity bias, even generally positive people. The automatic negativity bias evolved to keep us safe from lions, tigers, and bears, so there’s no need to beat yourself up about your negative tendencies. You come by them naturally. That negative bias, though, is antiquated, just like the slingshot our ancestors used to bring home dinner. It simply doesn’t serve us well in the modern age. Studies show that 90% of our thought are repetitive, and 70% of them are negative. That’s reason enough to want to nip negative thoughts in the bud. In today’s episode, you’ll learn four techniques for reining in negative thoughts and keeping them from running amok in your mind and ruining your day. These simple techniques -- some accessible even to children -- are tools that can steer moments from the negative to the positive. And once you get the hang of them, you’ll begin to do them automatically, trading in the negative spiral for a positive one. Thanks for listening! To share your thoughts: Le

31/01/2019 Duration: 34minHave you ever been in a situation that was upsetting to you, and you knew that if you could only see things a little differently, you’d feel much better? Have you ever been offended by someone’s behavior towards maybe the way they said something or did somethings, and when you mentioned it to them, they had no clue what you were talking about? Is there something you do, or think, or way you react consistently, but you can’t seem to help yourself in certain situations? The purpose of this episode is to give you a framework for how we form perception and how you can change your perceptions to help you achieve your desired outcomes. How we interpret information to produce our perceptions, how those perceptions effect how feel, how our bodies react to our perceptions, and how our perceptions lead to our behaviors. To put all this together, we’re going to dive into a super-power model for NLP. Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an evolving field and can be applied in different ways in different situat
