But here's the real story behind Saint Patrick and how his faith did change Ireland forever.It may surprise you to learn the real Saint Patrick wasn't actually Irish, but he came to Ireland as a teenager marauding Irish raiders when they attacked his home. They took Saint Patrick to Ireland and sold him to an Irish king who put him to work as a shepherd. He was raised in a Christian home but didn't really believe in God till he had an encounter with God in a dream. In the dream, God told Saint Patrick, "Your hungers are rewarded. Your ship is ready, you are going home." You don't have to love golf to get the message behind this story!Arnold Palmer isn't only the name of beverage, he was an actual guy and was a professional golfer. At one time, he played a series of exhibition matches in Saudi Arabia and when he finished, the King of the country wanted to present Arnold Palmer with a gift because of how impressed he was with expertise. Out of humility, Palmer said a gift wasn't necessary and just expressed how much he enjoyed getting to play in Saudi Arabia and getting to meet the people. The King indicated his extreme displeasure in not being able to give the famous golfer a gift, so wisely, Palmer reconsidered and told the king a golf club would be an amazing piece of memorabilia to remember his trip by. So the next day, a messenger delivered to Palmer's hotel room... a title to an entire golf club. A LITERAL golf club. 36 holes, trees, lakes, buildings. Moral of the story is this: When in the presence of a king, don't ask for small gifts.

It says in Roman 3:23 "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." This is true, but that doesn't stop us from comparing distances.Author Paul Zahl said this and it hits close to home because it's exact what a lot of us Christians do. We affirm the truth of the gospel. None of us have what it takes to be saved based on our own merits, that's why we need Jesus. But where we miss the mark is when we begin to compare distances how much we've sinned or how much forgiveness we're in need of. But the truth is, we've all fallen short and no matter who you are or what you past contains, the ground is level at the foot of the cross. Stop comparing distances and start looking towards the cross.

The Celebration Hour where we celebrate with you about what God is doing in your life or something he has done, and today with celebrate with a man who 37 years ago, was faced with a tough decision. He and his girlfriend we're in high school and we're set to be teen parents. At the time, they were told the best decision for them and their future would be to terminate the pregnancy. Because of the Lord's working in their hearts, this couple chose life and today they celebrate their son's 37th birthday!We can't wait to celebrate with you during Lauree and Doug's Celebration Hour here at 90.9 KCBI!

You've probably heard the phrase, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."Well one man has taken that to heart by trying something 189 times over the course of 17 years, and he's still yet to succeed!

We have arrived once again at Monday and we thought you could use a little bit of encouragement because...Well, just because.Here it is: You are worth loving. You don't need to bring or become your best self to be worth it. You don't need financial stability to be worth it. You don't need a clean past to be worth it. You are worth loving right now, just the way you are. There's no contingency to God's love. There no "if you clean up your past..." or "if you do...than God will love you/will have sent his son" That's already been done. The love is already there for the taking. Our job is just to move forward and believe in him. That's it.

If you don't make time for your wellness, you'll be forced to make time for your illness.As we look back at this last year it wasn't just that we were ignoring our wellness, I mean we we're in quarantine. But the result has been a larger number of people experiencing unhealthy weight gain and there have been low-level conditions that have turned into something more all because we chose to skip out on seeing the doctor. Health is a wholistic approach. Even though our focus has been to avoid Covid-19, we have to make sure to show attention to the other parts of us that need to be checked up on, as well.

Depending on your outlook, this could be good news: God can use your pain to help others struggling with the same pain.Rick Warren writes this in one of his devotionals, "When we're in pain the person we're thinking of the most is us because we're humans and we see things from our own perspective. But God says if we're going to learn to see like he does, we've got to try to see other people's pain, even when you're in pain."It's hard to think of others when we're dealing with our own stuff, but how do we do it? This is what it says in 1 Peter 4:1, "Since Christ suffered and underwent pain, you must have the same attitude he did. You must be ready to suffer too. For remember, when your body suffers, sin loses it's power."When we look past our pain, by his grace, we start to look more like Jesus and when we become more like Jesus, we start helping other people. That's the key.
