Pastor Daniel finishes the series "Parables: Stories Jesus told." Life can beat us down, discourage us, make us want to play it safe. A wrong view of God can even lead us to playing it safe in this life. Jesus is a loving and gracious King who secures His kingdom and calls His followers not to play it safe, but to invest and risk and dream for sake of His kingdom. The generosity of our King leads us to be stewards who dream kingdom dreams, engaging in His business.

Pastor Timothy continues in our current series, Parables: The Stories Jesus Told. This week he looked at the parable of the treasure and the pearl. Here Jesus unpacks for us what it means for the kingdom to be both hidden and priceless.

Pastor Daniel continues the series in "Parables" by preaching on 2 stories; parable of the mustard seed and parable of leaven. There is often confusion about the kingdom of God, and what it means to hope that God's kingdom would come to earth as it in heaven. Daniel preaches on the kingdom: it's unseen power, plodding growth, and complete renewal of the world.

Daniel continues the series in the Parables. Jesus uses stories to teach about the way of the kingdom. In this passage Jesus is teaching that the way of the kingdom is one of: rest and enjoyment, life, humility, and generosity. The purpose of life in the kingdom is enjoying communion with God and enjoying the gospel of Jesus, which is the party.

Daniel continues the series in the Parables. Prayer can be confusing and we can easily lose heart and stop praying. Jesus tells this parable to call us to the heart of prayer, which is persistence. Persistence comes from seeing ourselves as the nameless widow and God as the anti judge, and in praying we get not just something, but someone...God.

Pastor Daniel continues the series in the Parables. Preaching on the rich man and Lazarus, Daniel says that all of us are obsessed with winning and losing in comparison to others. We all have a "line of 270" that we use to measure ourselves to see if we are winning. Repentance in the Christian life is leaving this internal operating system and being wooed to trust Christ that winning comes in losing. Being Lazarus and loving Lazarus is the new way of winning.

Pastor Daniel continues our series in the Parables. Inserting ourselves into the story of a farmer sowing seed among differing soils, we are intended to ask "do we hear the voice of Jesus and the beauty of the gospel story?" The seed of the gospel is spread, though there will be obstacles, but if it is planted deep there will be fruit that brings life to the world.

Pastor Timothy continues in the sermon series on the parables of Jesus by unpacking the parable of the unforgiving servant. He explains why according to Jesus we are to give and what is the high cost of un-forgiveness.

Pastor Timothy concludes our renew series by looking at the core value of outward serving. He unpacks what John says in first John four about The heart change that is necessary in order for us to become a church that serves well.

Pastor Daniel continues our series "Renew." The church is called to be a part of a Gospel movement. By placing our trust in Jesus, the king, he catalyzes us forward - to believe the gospel of the kingdom, to labor for the gospel of the kingdom, and to put our confidence in the gospel of the kingdom.

Pastor Daniel continues the "Renew" series by preaching on the core value of being cross-cultural. There will be temptation, suffering, and oppression and Revelation 7 gives us a vision of a heavenly reality by which we must trust is more true than our struggles. A vision of a unified family, a victorious army, and a worshipping community must captivate our imagination and give us hope as we seek to have a cross-cultural community.

Pastor Daniel continues the series "Renew", preaching on the second of five core values of our church, Worship Driven. Jesus must replace what we worship, Jesus de-localizes worship, and Jesus compels us to call othes into worship.

This week Pastor Timothy began the discussion of our 5 core values by looking at the value, "Grace Centered." He showed from Matthew 20 how counter cultural and yet absolutely essential this value is for the church.

In this first of 6 sermons on the Vision and Mission of Christ Central Church, Pastor Daniel preaches a 30,000 ft view of why we exist as a church. The stories and purposes that drive our lives are often far too small, Pastor Daniel preaches on the great and grand story of Scripture, that calls us to Worship and to Mission, to "Seek the glory of God and the good of Durham".
