On Music Friday This Week: Dona Oxford is one of my favorite high-powered female musicians. In fact, she is one of my favorite musicians, male or female, of any power. Her skill on the keyboard is unmatched. Her songs and lyrics always on point, and her vocals energize audiences like no one else can. Her live shows have been blowing the roof off of venues from Los Angeles to London and she is here on Music Friday Live! If you don't know her, check out the video on the Music Friday website. Regular listeners to Music Friday Live! will recall last month when we tried to interview Claudia Schmidt and found her digging snow out from under a car that was trapped. She was on a cell phone and not in a good place for the scheduled interview, both geographically and otherwise. So we rescheduled for this Friday and, weather permitting, Claudia will join us, sans snow but with her songs from her latest album. She is talented, funny, opinionated and a greata guest!

Her music ranges from angst-laden pop-blues to bare bones romantic ballads. Every song is precisely crafted, demonstrating the lessons she learned from her The Voice coach, country star Blake Shelton.

On Music Friday This Week: Born in Southern Ontario, Marshall Dane grazed on a rich fix of music, from the country sounds of his preacher dad, to the pop music of his mum through his own musical discoveries from John Denver to Michael Jackson. He has taken those influences and created what I call, high energy down and dirty country rock - an infectious blend of country and rock inflected with a watermelon-sized helping of hope, love and salvation, Marshall's new album, One Of These Days will be featured on his guest spot 3/7/14 James Clay Garrison was raised with a guitar in Spain and became a virtuoso guitarist at an early age, recording his first album at 15. He moved to Los Angeles when he received an offer from Eddie Van Halen to record and the WB label and went on to work with artists like Ray Ch
