Weird Norfolk

This week the Weird Sisters get their claws into a discussion about the Devil in folklore before getting stuck in to morals, religion and whether or not the Devil takes taxis.

The team dropped in to chat about all things weird and wonderful, ghostly and great and shared their favourite film with a ghost in it (we banned them from choosing Ghost or Ghostbusters) and let us know where they'd haunt if they were ghosts!

This week the Weird Sisters discuss the apparitions which appeared on Sandy Lane in Dereham and Stacia recounts the time an interview she doing was gatecrashed by a celebrity spirit.

In which Stacia and Siofra conclude that they would not have survived the Witchfinder General's reign of terror.

The bells, the bells and the postman banging at the door and making Siofra really jump. This week Stacia and Siofra have a chat about the lost village of Shipden and a pleasure steamer which became “skewered atop the tower like a pig at a hog roast”.

In our second Weird Norfolk podcast we pay a hauntingly good visit to Baconsthorpe Castle, near Holt, which is home to a spectral sentry. Siofra learns that a plum stone isn’t actually a really great stone and Stacia gets to talk about her favourite exhibit at the Castle Museum, a rather grisly yet ‘hand’some relic of a duel near Aylsham.
