Synopsis

Welcome to the Green Bean Podcast! Why "Green Bean" you ask? Well, we love coffee and we love being green, so why not?! We only do our podcasts when drinking mass amounts of coffee so you basically get the caffeinated version of who we are. The decaf version is less ranting and more zoning out which is not a very fun podcast to listen to we've discovered. We try to take serious issues that could really use the attention and spotlight and put a fun spin on them so no one leaves feeling depressed (except us during our coffee caffeine crash). Give us a listen, get connected and leave us any questions and comments. We love discussing veganism, food, Nickleback, Little Baby Alec Baldwin, environmental news, unemployment and living better.

In our latest podcast we talk new year new you and how none of it matters because climate change is predicted to wipe us out in 20 years. We discuss the research behind this theory. Also, have you heard about 'dem crazy poachers in Oregon?? Well, they have rustled the feathers of the birding community for the last time! No, really...bird watchers refuse to take their crap and that goes for poachers, too. And the opossum needs some myth busting! They have been proven to be more useful than people. Weird we know. We end on a sad note as a horrible elected official in Illinois beats a raccoon because he feels his political office basically gives him police powers! Say, huh?! Tune in and hear us out, we have jokes in there, too.

Rick Scott is under attack again here on the Green Bean Podcast. Did you see how he replaced one developer with another to serve as commissioner for Florida Fish and Wildlife? He will have 5 years to exercise the "...regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to wild animal life and fresh water aquatic life and shall also exercise regulatory and executive powers of the state with respect to marine life, except that all license fees and penalties for violating regulations shall be as provided by law." We feel good about this decision because developers and real-estate investors are most equipped to ensure a balance between our economy and eco-system. Scott also likes to use tax-payer money to settle his lawsuits. The state of Florida just recently paid $700,000 after Scott was sued for deliberately blocking and delaying access to public records. Basically he created a bogus email to hide communications about government business. We Periscoped the first-half of our podcast so if you would ever

It's a first at the Green Bean Podcast as we go live on Periscope. It's a video streaming app that allows for a lot of audience participation which we will do again so follow us @TheGGGreen (Well, Green Bean Podcast is powered by The Girls Gone Green in case you didn't know). In this episode, Rick Scott comes up a lot or how Jonathon likes to refer to him "Dick Snot", hmmm, not bad. He's allowing one of Florida's threatened species to be hunted in October, because as we all know 3,000 is just 2,998 too many. Don't worry, we will be putting a lot of effort into fighting this and you can help. Start by following Stop The Florida Bear Hunt on Facebook and updates will be posted. We also touch on all that fluoride getting dumped into our drinking water. Is this part of our government's plan for world domination? Not sure, but it's definitely not boding well for those who are drinking the uncontrolled dosage. Did Ted Talks at one time give in to Monsanto and prevent any discussion of GMO products? Well, we kno

Who knew Jonathon had such a HUGE gun collection. It must say something about his penis...hmmmmm. In this week's episode we hit on all kinds of stuff. We debate if any 80s movie stars are still around which seemed like a good thing to speculate until Jonathon desecrates the dead with terrible jokes. On a more serious level we brainstorm another amazing idea to solve the poaching problem...DRONES WITH GUNS. OK, we can't take complete credit for it, as Austin Haughwaut inspired us with his prototype. Until we can get approval for this device, you can help stop Florida's bear hunt by checking out the Stop the Florida Bear Hunt Facebook page. Did you hear about the shark who tried to get Mick Fanning's autograph? Apparently he startled the pro-surfer and now Fox News has called for the deaths of all sharks because they don't understand how the oceans work. They are a bunch of geniuses over there. A couple of other things thrown into this hodgepodge podcast include the no poo challenge (details forthcoming), T
