Is your dog the next Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year?Scruffts, sponsored by James Wellbeloved, is the nations favourite crossbreed competition and is a great way to enjoy time with your dog and family. A crossbreed is a dog of mixed blood, whose parents are of two different breeds, or a mixture of several breeds. Scruffts was launched back in 2000 at Discover Dogs and is now celebrated with a grand final at Crufts.Scruffts 2014 WinnerWylie, a crossbreed dog rescued from Afghanistan, has today (Friday March 7th) been named the Scruffts Family Crossbreed of the Year at the worlds greatest dog show, Crufts.Wylie was near death before he was rescued by soldiers in Kandahar, Afghanistan, back in 2011. They took him to an army base where he was treated for some horrific injuries. Despite all of this he has recovered and is described by Sarah as a “gentle, trusting and loving dog.Scruffts 2014 heatsThe Kennel Club co-ordinates Scruffts heats throughout the UK during 2014.
