Sophia Lambton on THE CALLAS IMPRINT: A CENTENNIAL BIOGRAPHY and Netflix's MARIA
21/10/2024 Duration: 38minSophia Lambton is an English-Russian-Jewish writer who has been a professional classical music critic since the age of 17. Beginning her career at Britain’s oldest classical music magazine, Musical Opinion, she has contributed to The Guardian, Bachtrack, MusicOMH, BroadwayWorld, BBC Music Magazine, and Operawire. In 2019, she completed her first literary saga THE CROOKED LITTLE PIECES. The series has been published since May 2022. Volume 4 has recently been released. She also spent 12 years profoundly researching THE CALLAS IMPRINT: A CENTENNIAL BIOGRAPHY, which came out to coincide with Maria Callas’ 100th birthday last year. Kristy Cates on WICKED, the Tony Awards, and more
01/07/2024 Duration: 25minKristy Cates is a professional actress who’s based in New York City. She made her Broadway debut in the original cast of the smash hit, WICKED, as the understudy to Idina Menzel, and can be heard on the iconic cast recording. She went on to play the lead role of Elphaba on Broadway, in the first national tour, and in Chicago. Her other main stem credits include Miss Bassett in FINDING NEVERLAND and Grandma Josephine in CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. She is also a professional voiceover artist and has been heard on national tv/radio commercials for such brands as Subway, Almay Cosmetics, Chase Bank, PNC, and more. Not to mention that she is an original member of the New York Film Academy’s Musical Theatre faculty dating back to 2009, where she is the current Chair of Musical Theatre for the Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre. Alex Fluker & Conor Kruger of the 2024 DPAC Rising Star Awards

This regional competition brings together high school musical theater students from Central and Eastern North Carolina to perform and compete for the chance to represent the Triangle in The National High School Musical Theater (otherwise known as The Jimmy) Awards in New York City on June 24th. The national competition celebrates outstanding student performances in high school musical productions from all over the United States. Shortly after the DPAC Rising Star Awards, I had the great pleasure of going backstage to interview both of this year's winners, Alex Fluker of Panther Creek High School and Conor Kruger of Enloe High School. Bekah Brunstetter on PlayMakers' THE GAME and Broadway's THE NOTEBOOK
08/04/2024 Duration: 12minBekah Brunstetter is a native of North Carolina who just so happens to be a prolific playwright. Among her works are F*CKING ART, I USED TO WRITE ON WALLS, BE A GOOD LITTLE WIDOW, GOING TO A PLACE WHERE YOU ALREADY ARE, and THE CAKE. She’s also written for several television shows such as SWITCHED AT BIRTH, AMERICAN GODS, MAID, and THIS IS US (the latter of which earned her three Primetime Emmy nominations as a producer on it). Most recently, she made her Broadway debut as book writer on the new stage musical adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ THE NOTEBOOK. Not to mention that a new play of her’s is getting ready to premiere at PlayMakers Repertory Company titled THE GAME. I had the great pleasure of interviewing her about all of this and more.
