  • Mr Bornface Nonde (Movember) Interview - Men's Health

    16/11/2020 Duration: 46min

This has honestly been one of the most difficult interviews I have had to do. For so many reasons. One, because cancer has a very close connection to a personal tragedy that happened in my family where we lost our mother to ovarian cancer, but also because I was speaking to an elderly {very charismatic} man who kindly came forward and trusted me to tell his personal story. Men are generally not very open about their issues or feelings so it was overwhelming for me to take on this task. 'Movember' is all about men’s health issues ranging from mental to physical health. This month, we decided to focus on one particular physical issue, prostate cancer.

We are happy to announce a partnership that will help ease this burden at an extremely affordable monthly premium. So who is Diaspora Insurance and what do they stand for? Why should you choose them and how does it all work? I asked Ruth Masanyinga these questions and more. ZASA Magazine — Founder of Yoni Zambia (a group of companies including Yoni Spa) and WEEP (Women’s Economic Empowerment Program). Our woman crush July is Alina Lee Ntombirayi Khumbirayi Mwiya Musonda Nakamba Karimamusama… Yes, that is one person’s name {and I thought I had many names!! Everybody in her family basically clearly wanted to name her!!} Her grandfather was Shona and she was later told a story that there is an African belief that when a child has so many names, the ancestors believe that there will be some greatness attached to that child, and so, therefore, everyone wants to get their names attached to that child. The ancestors were clearly right in this case. At 22, Alina has achievements under her belt and wisdom most three times her age would be blessed to have {I certainly would!!}.

  • Tobie Nyathi Interview - ZASA Magazine

    30/06/2020 Duration: 36min

ZASA Magazine — Rugby. Zambia. When you think of Zambia in relation to sport, the first thing that comes to mind is soccer. As a sport, the attention rugby gets isvery minimal – this, of course, could be my own ignorance talking, but it's a perception borne by many judging from the numerous encounters with other Zambians home and abroad since childhood. Why is that? Where is Zambia currently and what will it take to bring it to the forefront in national sport? We chat with a man who has been at the centre of Zambian rugby his whole life, from playing on the fields of Chifubu at age 15 to leading the national team as coach - here is Mr Tobie Nyathi’s story.
