Welcome back! This week is about all about the magic of vulnerability in a song. Corinne Bailey Rae and Norah Jones are both masters of transparency with their emotions (sometimes perhaps in ways only women can convey) only to have you relate on a level that surpasses reality. From a story of Corinne leaving a tipsy voicemail phone call expressing her Love to her one and only all the way to Manhattan where Norah is leaving a double life of a relationship, nothing gets passed the warmth and magic these rare find of female Artists are able to convey through their craft. Whoa! Welcome back to everyone still out there! I decided to step outside of the box of Artists Loving Artists Episode a bit and begin a new mini-segment of Solo Episodes (Mini-sodes)! I was heavily inspired driving home from work today: it's time to get this Wheel turning and keep Going. Welcome back to Artsits Loving Artists! This week I had the honor of recording with Chris Willis and Nate Mackey from Wrtierdie.net! The fellas and I had been trying to get together to merge once again, and finally fell into synchronized timing and harmony to talk about one thing we all have dealt with: Breaking Up. Entitled the Breakup Catalog, the guys and I sat down at St. Elmo brewery to go through a list of songs we held (or hold) near and dear to our hearts throughout particular breakups we've experienced or rather that carried empathy for us in our time of needs like The Postal Service, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, and more. I love talking with these guys, and can always count on emotional and intelligent conversations every time we cross paths. Welcome back and Happy 2018! This week, my guests are a couple of awesome and quirky dudes, who's love for the world of EDM and DJ's themselves make for a fantastic episode! JP Gibbs & Aaron Liese fell into my life by way of new avenues I've taken and I'm so stoked they were able to share a piece of their world to Artists Loving Artists! This week, I had the immense pleasure to sit with Brian Freel: Bass player (and all around versatile musician) of my brother Michael's band Crocodile Tears . The first time I met Brian, my immediate reaction was how authentic of a vibration he carried. I instantly thought of him as a guest &  I knew he would bring the right amount of depth to a conversation when I mentioned it. Join along as we discuss Brian's top 5 Girl Groups of the 50's and 60's and discuss how each resonate with us.

This week, my good friend and fellow guitarist Josh Guardado  (formerly of several successful El Paso based bands and most recently: Runner's High) and I are back at Radio Coffee & Beer Bar for a discussion on one of our common guilty (or maybe not so guilty pleasures) of: Pop Music! Not only do we cover some of Billboards Top 40 but start off with Josh's pick: the Japanese Pop Band, The Pillows. If there's one thing Josh and I agree on, it's that Pop music elevates the soul, releases your fears, and shines bright (like a diamond) even if for 3 minutes and 40 seconds at a time. Both lovers of the Top 40 Billboard Charts on a Karaoke night, we lean into & discuss pretty intricate perspectives on what Pop music is to us, and how marketing/the industry play it's part. We decided to follow the flow of the guys' podcast as we start with a "Top of the Moment", discuss this week's Beer of choice (chosen by their weekly guest), and the fellas even let me sing a tune. Eventually we merge into the main discussion of the Episode entitled "High School Hangups" where the 3 of us turn to one another in hopes of understanding each others teenage heroes. We took a week to listen to one album/artist of influence from our adolescence to open our ears and what we found was surprising. This week, instead of focusing on a single song, my oldest brother Jake (drummer of the band: Blushing) joins me in discussing some of our favorite songs and albums of Bob Dylan & his essence in general. We discuss Dylan's vibration, how he influenced us with Courage and Confidence in some big (and surprisingly similar) transitions in our lives, & the entity he is. A special Mother's Day Episode this week with the ultimate guest: My Mom herself! This week, we have a discussion on Linda Ronstandt, and how she opened the vocal lock on my Moms passion for singing. We talk about Linda's overall beauty with her simplicity although anything but ordinary vibe, women in music of the era, as well as hear stories of my Mom's connection to meeting my Dad and how Linda played a part. This week my guest is the great singer-songwriter Paul Teneyuque of the band 'Kay Pasa'. We discuss one of his greatest influences: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and have the pleasure of hearing stories from Paul's journey as a musician, the multiple bands he's played in, and how CSN&Y influenced his life and sound. Light politics are mentioned and dissection of the songs "Ohio" & "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" are up for analyzation. A great episode, with a great man this week!

"King George" is the focus of this weeks discussion with a special guest: my older brother, Michael. As a well versed guitarist and an ear for lyrics, we have a nostalgic discussion on George Strait (a foundational maker for some of the best 80's and 90's country artists) his authenticity as a singer, how he instantaneously drops us back into our town we grew up in (El Paso, Texas) and how simplicity and being genuine in songwriting is all you really need to get a message across. An all girl Podcast! My sister-in-law Michelle joins me this week as we compare and contrast Fiona Apple & Sara Bareilles as two different realms of songwriting and channeled emotions. We'll be discussing Fiona's melancholy "Love Ridden" & Sara's hopeful tune "Many the Miles" as well as what these songs mean to us as songwriters, how we perceived our first listen to each others picks, and the elements of women in music.
