  • Winter Running - How to Stay Motivated & the Holiday Half

    01/11/2012 Duration: 26min

As we recover from Halloween and head into the rest of the holiday season, it starts to sink in that yes, the winter weather is upon us and, especially in Eugene, we're stuck with rain for the next 7 months. For us runners we have two choices....run or not run. If you're like me and not running is not an option, there's a myriad of things you do to keep yourself warm, semi-dry and motivated. We all know that one of the great ways to do that is sign yourself up for a race. And now, there's one timed just perfectly on December 22nd - the Eugene Holiday Half Marathon and Holiday Hustle 5 and 10K races. We'll chat today with Race Directory, Piper Ruiz, about the fun details of this winter race day and share some tips with you on how to get out the door on cold, dark mornings. Piper is a published author and owner of Pink Buffalo Publishing and Pink Buffalo Racing, and, of course, a runner herself.
